Griffith’s Pottery

Gary Griffith focuses on pottery as a form of folk art that expresses beauty through everyday useful objects. Gary throws his pieces on a kick wheel and creates unique decorations by carving or impressing with simple tools. He is interested in how design can enhance the shape of a pot and how glaze can break and pool around the design. Gary makes his clays and glazes by hand. He is influenced by the Leach studio pottery movement and other styles of Art and Craft.
