Johanne Lamarche is a French Canadian who came to Philadelphia to complete a residency in periodontics and stayed for love. Twenty years of volunteer work as an art educator with Art Goes to School fueled a passion to create art of her own. An award-winning contemporary artist, she is inspired by the beauty of the natural world in its glory and its decaying forms. She enjoys having viewers bring their own personal experiences and feelings to interpreting her work and hopes her paintings carry a sense of uplifting energy, empowering inspiration, a moment of escape and always a sense of beauty. Her work is in private collections in the US, Canada and Europe and in The Permanent Collection of the Museum of Encaustic Art in Santa Fe, NM. She proudly serves on the PAAG’s leadership team and invites others to join our dynamic creative community!
